Washer Necklace - Good Value Memorization Craft or Gift

Our Stake leaders gave out washer necklaces one year to each girl who passed off their value memorizations, including Virtue.  (It was newish that year.)  You could use it as an incentive in that way, or you could use it as a Girls Camp craft or Personal Progress craft.

The girls loved them and so did I!  I like how the one below uses cute ribbon.  I also like the ones our Stake did with jute-type of cording for the necklace part.  Either way, it's fun and inexpensive.  Directions below...

girls camp craft, personal progress

Materials
  • Necklace cording (ribbon, leather, jute, etc.)
  • Washer
  • Paper
  • Glue (Mod Podge or your own concoction)

Directions
  1. Cut paper to fit washer.
  2. Affix paper to washer with glue mixture or Mod Podge.
  3. Paint glue/Mod Podge over paper and washer to protect paper from moisture.
  4. Tie ribbon onto washer.
Can you believe it's that easy?  I love it!  It is a great incentive and is also fast and thrifty.  What a good combination.
